Normally after I bake something I’ll take a little bite to make sure it doesn’t taste like dirt, but then I foist it off onto my husband, friends, coworkers and neighbors. But this bread, I took a bite, then another, and another… SO GOOD. And it was great to make the night before. I can’t wait to make it for my next brunch party.

I am still baking it now…good times, it had only been sitting out to get to room temperature since 9am….

… can’t wait to try.
Remember Zasu Pitts as a tiny, nervous twittery actress in movies and TV.
… try with shredded Parmesan and Italian herb mix after dipping in melted butter for a savory treat.

I made this for Christmas morning so I didn’t exactly have it up on the 19th. Better late than never, though, and this one was worth it!

My mom has been making a version of Monkey Bread since I was a kid. She never made the bread part from scratch. She bought 4 cans of biscuits. Cut each one into four pieces. Then do the roll in butter, then sugar mixture. I guess the way my family does it is a short cut version, but still yummy.

Great fun to make – messy and perfect for kids. Or the “kid” in all us adults!
