Ugh… I struggled, and was ultimately disappointed, with this one. I’m posting anyway, though I was hesitant to. Just goes to show, not every recipe is a success for everyone, I suppose! Hope the rest of you had better luck!
I was so excited to try these, and I sprung for the Brooksters pan at Williams-Sonoma, despite my skepticism because it’s a dark-colored pan. I must say that I was very sad when they came out RAW on the inside– they cooked WAY too fast on the outside, presumably because of the dark pan. I’ll try again and will update my post, but for now:
Dessert heaven! I baked them in a light colored jumbo muffin pan and that worked well for me. While I am still a bigger fan of them separately, this made for one outrageous dessert warmed up with some good vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup on top.
Hm, I’ll check into that. It’s all new to me so I’m figuring out the blog world as I go. There is a spot to comment I see but I am assuming it didn’t let you?
Thanks for the compliment :-) Considering all you went through, I think yours look pretty darn good! You definitely get an A for effort!
Thank you Susan! I thought they were good on their own but incredible warmed with ice cream. I read up a lot on food photography and learned a few new tricks this week so my pics wouldn’t be so sorry looking. I didn’t really love mine last week. I also loaded Instagram which made a big difference. Blogging is a whole new world to me!
Hi Deb….I had trouble commenting on your blog as well. But your Brooksters look beautiful! I toyed with the idea of using an oversized muffin pan. Now I wish I had. Such a pretty delineation between the brownies and the cookies! Great job! : )
Thank you! Yours look great too. I like the ice cream shot! I just tested the page to see if I could comment and it worked. The comments box doesn’t show up it appears until you click on 0 comments first. Was that your experience, no comment box? Just curious since I’m all new to this!!
I don’t like to mix my food, but I’m happy to have brownie mixed with chocolate chip cookie anytime! And I’m thrilled to be baking from Baked Elements finally!
Mine turned out raw in the middle too, but I attributed it to my change in the type of pan or my new oven being off. Will have to read through everyone’s posts to see what a cause may be.
These were pretty good! I made them in 4 inch tart pans since I didn’t have little pie plates. The only curious thing is that I had SO MUCH cookie dough left over. If I had known I would have doubled the brownie recipe to be able to make more Brooksters, because I ended up with about 30 chocolate chip cookies! Pretty tasty though!
My first Baked Sunday Morning! Overall, I’d judge the Brookster a success, though, like many of you, I wasn’t as blown away as I thought I would be. Also felt the directions should have been more specific about the amount of cookie dough to top the brownies with if using a muffin pan.
I first made these last summer from the Williams-Sonoma box mix and am glad to have had the chance to bake them from scratch with this group. My first time posting on Baked Sunday Mornings, look forward to many more.

This is one of those ideas that sounds great but ultimately I think these two classics are better separately!

I really liked these!!! Now I know why a restaurant says it may be 30 minutes for a hot baked cookie sundae.

My first time to bake with everybody here- My Brooksters were a success even though I hit a few road bumps along the way to chocolate heaven……http://pattysfood.com/uncategorized/baked-elements-brooksters-chocolate-chip-cookies-baked-on-top-of-brownie-pies/

Tasty, but I’ve got to agree with Candy that these seemed to be less than the sum of their parts.
