I love this cake. I blogged about it earlier this year (http://ipso-fatto.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-cake-so-nice-i-made-it-twice.html), so for today I went rogue and made the tricolor cookies from the first book (http://ipso-fatto.blogspot.com/2013/11/baked-sunday-mornings-baked-tricolor.html).

Loved this one! It came together really easily for me – I often have some trouble decorating layer cakes but not so with this one. I especially loved the cream cheese in the frosting; I wouldn’t have thought to pair that with caramel but it worked beautifully! So good!

This cake and frosting are really delicious. I had a bit of trouble with the frosting not setting up stiff enough (you can see the picture on my blog) but other than that .. yum, yum!

Loved it! Made cupcakes instead of the layer cake, it was a big hit!

Absolutely loved. I liked the simplicity of this cake. It’s humble and unassuming, but one taste and you are blown away. So good. One of I will make again, for sure. That frosting is delicious!

Whew, done! Did cupcakes. It is a yummy recipe. And is easy, so I think next time it would be in cake form.
