Also, I *finally* finished and posted my Simple Chocolate Whiskey Tart. Would you mind adding my link to the Round-Up for that recipe? Thanks!

Hmm, my comment says “awaiting moderation”– did I do something wrong when I posted?

As Matt says in the header note – not The Most Beautiful Cookie in the World – but they’re still delicious!

Man I’m impressed you guys all got the chocolate swirls! Mine came out looking like a hot mess… although they tasted great :)

Not going to lie – these were a touch fussy – but they have a delicious payoff. I’m sure mine will look like the most rugged and slipshod of all of ours (those darn swirls are a nemesis for perfectionist bakers like me, darn it), but all in all, I like how these came out looking rustic and homemade… because they were! :-) The flavors are wonderful, and I really enjoy the sharpness of the dark chocolate. I feel that mellow milk chocolate would have gotten overpowered by the peanut butter. Yummy. I won’t make these a lot, but I enjoyed them more than I thought I would.

Can I just come right out and ask all of my fellow bloggers a blunt question – HOW are earth can you afford to buy Valrhona chocolate (or the like)???? I keep trying to find an affordable source for it, but it’s so damn expensive. I keep sticking by Ghirardelli. It’s the best I can afford without going broke. :-P

Mark- I use Trader Joes pound plus 72% dark chocolate bars and love them. I’ve found the quality to be really good, and SO cheap (about $5 for 17 ounces)!
