I thought the red velvet cake was okay, but I prefer cream cheese frosting. https://ipso-fatto.blogspot.com/2015/08/hot-or-not-red-hot-velvet-cake-with.html
But I went rogue with the lemon-almond meringue tarts and thought they were amazing! https://ipso-fatto.blogspot.com/2019/10/baked-sunday-mornings-lemon-almond.html

I enjoyed this cake very much, but I feel that red velvet needs the tanginess of cream cheese. Next time I would make a cinnamon-spiked cream cheese frosting– best of both worlds!

I liked this more than your standard red velvet – made as cupcakes, for the ultimate cake-frosting ratio. Why have I not made these again since 2012?? http://www.porkcracklins.com/2012/08/red-hot-velvet-cupcakes-with-cinnamon-buttercream/
