Awesome recipe. Loved it, and would definitely make it again. I ended up poaching my own pears, which really was no trouble at all. The whiskey provides a perfect complement to the pears. I did feel it was a tiny bit time-consuming – many steps where you had to chill ingredients, etc. but it’s an excellent pay-off in the end. A great recipe to kick off fall!
We really enjoyed this and are thinking of making it again for Thanksgiving!

This is my first time making the tart with fresh pears… Mmmmmm, so delicious, especially the almond cream!
