I baked, too. Sheri and Dafna, did you measure your flour by weight or volume? There appears to be a serious error in the recipe for the amount of flour (the volume is 50% more flour than the weight measurement), so maybe that’s what caused them to fall apart during frying?

These were no beauties, but were a hit over hear. I opted for the baked version, which might explain them not falling apart.

You’re right – I measured by weight and it should have been closer to 170g.
I rechecked the results from both recipe testers, and it turned out fine, but the test recipe only had volume measurements.
I weighed my ingredients too. Bummer, but thanks for the investigative work! I still don’t think I’d make these again, but never say never…
