I was just lukewarm on this one. I had too much topping so I think I mis-measured something. This one was tested by four people and none of the tester notes mentioned too much topping. However, more than one mentioned that the top browned too fast in a 400 degree oven. :) Also: cherry crisp should only be made in the summer. Period.
I had way too much topping as well, but this turned out to be okay because I made it once with some nasty fresh cherries, and I was able to re-bake with frozen ones and didn’t have to make another batch of topping. ;-)
I agree with Sheri, using frozen fruit in a crisp is just plain weird. I cut back on the almond extract before baking and am really glad I did. This was so-so.
So I skipped this one…no fresh cherries around here, and it’s hard to find frozen ones…but I did make the Nutella Chip Cookies for a friend this week and they ROCKED MY WORLD!

Not baking this time.
We have no cherries over here at this time and didn’t see any frozen ones.
And I’m trying to recover from a bad cold, so keeping my activities in the kitchen to the minimum.
Can’t wait to see everyones creations!

I hope you’ll feel better soon, Hannah! Frankly, it never occurred to me to look for frozen cherries, but this was delicious!

Can’t find cherries frozen or fresh…as much as I wanted to do this one I will have to sit this one out. Happy Baking everyone!

Made it once with nasty fresh cherries, then again with frozen, which were better. I’ll wait until summer next time!

FYI– there is an ingredient missing from the online recipe. In the filling, there should be 1 tsp. lemon zest at the bottom of the list.

I had to sit this one out too! I’m sad to miss one, but I put off getting ingredients too long! :(
